Parent Review

Ok, so I have found some useful discussion topics on goodreads.  As I was navigating the site as well as discussions, I decided to ask a question of my own.  My daughter checked out a book from the library and I haven't read it yet, but I wanted to make sure it was appropriate for her (she is almost 14).  Normally I can find parent book reviews on the website called, Common Sense, or Focus on the Family.  Since we couldn't find parent reviews, I decided to post my own topic, asking for parent advice on the book for a thirteen year old.  While it took me a while to figure out how to post my message, it ended up being really beneficial as I got a few responses which helped me to decide that the book was not appropriate for her.  So my thought for today is: while I may not totally understand how this online community works, I see how it can be helpful...

Today I joined GOODREADS.COM, which is an online community where people share information about books.  So far I'm not impressed, although I have to try navigating it a bit more.  It is a little confusing trying to find information that connects with your own but I suppose in time I will understand it.  I read alot of YA books so I also joined the YA book forum.  Unfortunately, most of the members are actually young adults so it appears their blogs are just a bunch of nonsense and have nothing to do with books!  That's my thought for the day.
