This week on Goodreads...

Well, this week I participated in a few different discussions on a few books I've read.  While may people have strong opinions on some of the books, there was only one person I could find who enjoyed using profanity to prove his point.  I understand that some people are passionate about their feelings, but it does not excuse such behavior. 

Goodreads blog - the Hunger Games!

So this week I have been following some discussions regarding casting for the new Hunger Games movie which I am so upset about.  Most people who have commented have been pretty civil about it, regardless of a difference of opinion.  Since the Hunger Games series is classified as "young adult," most of the people who participate in discussions are probably teens.  Rather than caring about casting for the purpose of telling a great story, there are more comments about "who's hot and who's not."  I suppose it's a little frustrating when you want to have a good conversation, but most of the group is young hormonal teens!  I also checked out the Harry Potter discussions and read a ton of spoilers since my daughter wouldn't spill it!  Some bad language in some of them, although I don't think it was directed towards others.  Overall a good week.  I will check back to see what people thought of my Hunger Games discussion...

Message Board

I am getting notified every time there is a new topic of potential interest to me on Goodreads.  While there is SOME useful information, I get a lot of topics that are not of interest to me.  I'm finding it frustrating and time consuming to read ll of these.  I will have to learn how to filter or set up my preferences.
