End of the road!

I think my Goodreads blog has come to an end.  It has been quite an experience participating in an online community or forum of avid readers like myself.  I just found out that my local library has a forum on Goodreads for the adult summer reading program so I suppose I will participate!  Overall, it was a good experience, although I have to admit that my forum was a bit boring.  What I mean by that is: not a whole lot of craziness going on and pretty good displays of digital citizenship - nothing too exciting to report.  Otherwise it was fun and informative and helps me to understand how blogs aid or hurt some of my students based on the good and bad examples that exist.  Goodbye for now!

Not Much This Week

So I participated in a couple of discussions this week which weren't really exciting.  I shared some opinions about a book I enjoyed, although apparently some people did not agree with me.  Nevertheless, I think I showed respect towards the negative opinions, and they were respectful of mine.  So, other than that, there's not much else to report this week...

Digital Citizenship

Yikes!  It looks like I've fallen behind in my blogs.  Last week we covered the topic of digital citizenship.  I think so far I've been pretty lucky in my online forum.  Perhaps it is because we are all avid book readers and try to use responsible behavior online?  I noted that people use pretty good manners and I appreciate how there are certain rules such as not giving away spoilers or warning someone if you have spoilers so they can be hidden.  I find it interesting how even though most of the people who participate in the forum are "young adults, " they all seem to be aware of the general expectations and guidelines of digital citizenship.  While some of the participants don't add a whole lot to the discussion, they typically aren't rude or offensive. They just say things like, "OMG, this was the best book EVER!"  If you can get past that, then I guess anything else is tolerable.  :)
